Georgian Georgian is an umbrella term for a wide variety of styles that covered nearly 100 years. During the reigns of the four Georges, styles ranged from the late Baroque through Rococo & Chinoiserie to the Gothic Revival, so Georgian is a little hard to pin down. Wallcoverings were rich & varied, from imported Chinese panels to the products of a thriving domestic wallpaper industry. This design, although adapted from a Georgian original, would not have looked out of place in a Victorian or even Edwardian room and the sepia print of Virginia Woolf looks quite at home.

Modern This design is based on the optical designs popular in the 1960's. They, in turn, were based on the work of artists such as Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely. The mid sixties were a time of innovation and the testing of boundaries. It was the time of the Beatles & the Stones, Mini-Skirts and Mary Quant. Even in stark black & white, this design provides the eyes with some serious exercise. However, if you truly wish to expand your mind, try combinations of complementary green & red or blue & orange.

Family Tree An original & arresting way to display all those treasured mementos. Various members of the family wearing silly hats perhaps? Combine contemporary digital photos with black & white and sepia shots from previous generations.
