Legend has it that Napoleon inverted the Fleur de Lys (The symbol of the hated French Royalty) and decided that it resembled a bee. From that day the bee became the Napoleonic emblem.

The designs illustrated above were taken from a furnishing brocade from the reign of Napoleon III. The separate elements can be combined in a wide variety of formats.
Includes three different motifs to repeat in the design.
