Mosaic, the practice of combining many hundreds and thousands of pieces of coloured glass or stone, has been used as surface decoration since the 5th Century BC. By virtue of its material cost and labour intensive nature, it was only within the reach of the rich, the state or the church. This collection of co-ordinating Mosaic stencils allows the creation of authentic classical schemes at a fraction of the cost of true mosaic.

The Mosaic stencil collection consists of Borders, Cornerpieces and Tiles of various sizes which can combine to produce complete schemes or can be used as individual decorative elements. The large Border collection contains Motifs that range from the typical Greek Key and Anthemion designs of antiquity to stencils featuring Dolphins and Acanthus. The matching Cornerpieces allow for the construction of Mosaic panels on walls or floors and these same cornerpieces can also be used as smaller tiles. The Tile collection can be used to cover areas both large and small. Some are Repeat Pattern stencils whist others are pictorial motif Tiles. Try interspersing these pictorial tiles amongst areas of plain tile for a restrained classical effect.
